16 December 2007 - Karsenty spiked by the Crimson

If anyone's wondering why I haven't posted about the Karsenty event, it's because the Harvard Crimson--which sent a reporter along, who interviewed Karsenty and several audience members, as well as the event organizers--decided to spike the story.

As soon as I have a video link to the recording of the event, I'll post it here.

Spiked it, eh? I wonder why ... maybe it just wasn't newsworthy enough. After all, the Little Muhammed is ancient history by now... And no one follows the Palestinian-Israeli conflict anymore.

Or maybe those scrupulous Crimson editors observed a self-imposed media gag order to protect from tainting the verdict. Except the trial is happening in France and there's no jury, just a panel of appeal judges.

Perhaps the Crimson editors, despite their zeal to speak truth to power, found themselves "trembling in fear" at the prospect of voicing criticism of the Palestinian entity.

Any way you parce it, this omission is an affront to honest journalism.

"It is a matter of indisputable historical fact that Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza in a defensive, just war and therefore legally. "

ROTFLMAO!

Israel supporters sure are masters of Chutzpah; defining a war where Israeli armies crossed the borders of other nations as "defensive". I guess the Nazi annexation of Poland was "defensive".

Man you nuts are good for a laugh.
